Reactor Tycoon v2
Reactor Tycoon v2 is currently in alpha and is being developed with new features and content in the works, there is no save system, and not all features listed below are complete.
Please give feedback in the comments, and feel free to give a rating in the upper right corner!
Step into the retro-futuristic world of Reactor Tycoon v2, a 3D, low-poly management game where you take control of a nuclear power plant. Inspired by the aesthetics of old school 3d gaming, this game combines pixel art UI with low-poly models to create a nostalgic yet innovative experience.
Objective: Your primary goal is to maximize profits. As the manager of a nuclear power plant, you will plan, build, and maintain your facility, ensuring it runs efficiently and profitably.
Gameplay Features:
- Strategic Planning & Building: Design, construct, then upgrade various sections of your power plant, from reactors to cooling towers, with an eye for efficiency and safety.
- Negotiations: Engage with grid operators to negotiate downtime and energy prices. Manage your output carefully; producing too much can reduce your earnings per megawatt.
- Financial & Logistical Challenges: Balance your budget, manage resources, and deal with logistical issues to keep your plant operational and profitable.
Platforms:
Currently, Reactor Tycoon v2 only runs on web, but after the full release it will be available on Windows, Mac, and Linux!

Very fun game, when you max the size out it says nothing and i didnt realize it was maxed so i might have burned a bil or so autoclikcing it
Noted, thanks for playing!
super realistic, this thing has been going on for the past hour. I'm not saying "game bad" game is really good actually.
Looks promising! I jst don't really understand so well how to manage the core temp, or how to toggle the backup pumps.
Well done!!!
You can manage the core temp by changing how high you set your rods. (You will need to upgrade your core to increase core temperature further)
While the backup pumps are not functional yet, because there is no maintenance system rn
Once you upgrade your reactor core (and reactor shield), the temp goes too high, and I haven't found a way to set the rods higher without overheating. Therefore, those last core upgrades feel kinda useless.
That said, I loved the aesthetics and gameplay of it! It really feels nice to manage the reactor.
Ah, and about the contracts: Are they already fully implemented? The graph say maybe "200KW to 300KW" while my turbines generate circa 12MW each, so it seems kinda wrong... I mean, even a single turbine would generate a lot more than it's needed.
I'll keep an eye out for updates ;)
For upgrades, as you upgrade your reactor core, you need to upgrade cooling towers to help cool them down more, (you can also double up on cooling towers if you want, but having 3 or more is less than super beneficial).
Also note, Power isn’t generated from having a high core temp, it’s generated from having a high differential between reactor temp and your cooling tower.
As for contracts, they are a tad finicky, the offers should scale as your power plant grows, so you need to re-click on the contract to find new deals that work better with a larger plant. (I’ll adjust the UI in the next update to make this more clear.)
From what I tested, having a max cooling tower and core is no better than two or more towers since the diff is almost negligible at best when compared to expanding operations.
it's also a bit clunky that you can't at least delete let alone move anything. which hinders things with the way expansion of tiles works currently.
I also think it would be nice if we could have it so I don't have to take half an hour just to tune all my reactors since the core temp celling is comparatively shallow along with the negligible effects at best with cooling towers.
At the very least please have it so I can use the scroll wheel or some other method so we can fine tune reactor output if you insist on having core temp mitigation this atrocious when all the upgrades are maxed.
Tguas game is so awesome saucular! love it! come see me at awesome land
Thx for the feedback!
This has potential ! I keep clicking on buildings behind the menus when disabling the brakes, I think you should fix that
Thanks for the feedback! I just launched a patch that fixes this and a few other things. So for now don’t think you will accidentally click on buildings behind the menus anymore.
Let me know of any other bugs/issues.
